PRESS RELEASE: Friends of Murgoitio Park Supports Completion of the Park
The Board of Directors of Friends of Murgoitio Park, Inc. is committed to seeing the completion of Murgoitio Park as a regional park. We fully understand the statements that have been made by the City of Boise staff and its elected officials that the failure to complete anticipated annexations in this region may have frustrated some of the funding for, and the completion of, Murgoitio Park.
FAA Funding and Restrictions on Murgoitio Park
It has come to our attention that the City of Boise accepted either FAA funding through the Airport Improvement Program used for the acquisition of the parcel currently slated for use as Murgoitio Park or used funding from the Airport Enterprise Fund for this acquisition. Either of these funding sources would have Federally mandated restrictions on their use.
